What Happened to America? The Change

The article below was first published on Facebook. My regular article site, EZine articles, contains others in the series 'What Happened to America?' They would not publish the following article because they deemed it 'too negative'. I published it on Facebook where it was quite popular. I decided to publish it here for review and for those who might not have seen it. In future articles we'll take each of the eight shifts outlined below and discuss how we might prepare ourselves and our families for the new America.

In my last article called 'The End', we laid out eight landmarks that are changing America. As these landmarks continue to permeate our society, we will experience significant changes as citizens. Lets take a brief look at what we might be experiencing in the New America.

  1. America's Lack of Financial Management: Our national debt will continue out of control and more and more government programs will be cut. America's time of leading the world in economic matters is over. We will begin to feel this in our everyday lives. Manufacturing jobs are gone forever and service jobs are all that remain for the masses. Our standard of living is going to continue to decline, public services will decline and the pressure to live day to day will become the priority for more and more people. Obamacare will increase costs beyond what any of us can imagine and, it will reduce health service to a crawl, and get worse each year.
  2. America's Lack of a Freedom Based Foreign Policy: Our leadership in the free world will continue to decline as will that of Canada, Australia the remaining free countries of Europe. Our society will continue to be less stable as time goes on. Attacks like the recent Boston Marathon bombing will slowly increase as Islam gains more acceptance throughout the free countries of the world. We will experience more changes subtly infiltrating all walks of our lives by United Nations and one world government initiatives quietly being placed on agendas in towns large and small across America. We will see increasing unrest as Islam moves deeper into American society and Sharia Law quietly, case by case, gains greater acceptance. The loss of freedoms will be cemented before most in America realize it.
  3. America's Rapidly Changing Demographics: The two elements of this landmark will turn America into a melting pot that is unrecognizable from the country that led the free world. The first element is simple birth rates. Older citizens of America had large families and younger Americans, more interested in careers have less children. Simple mathematics. The second part of this is immigration, legal and yes, illegal. Larger cities are already being changed forever, smaller ones at a lesser pace. The new immigrants have no interest in American values but want to live as they did before they came here. Living in America will, over time, be like visiting a Third World country today.  The changes this will force upon government in the way of increased prisons, law enforcement and social services will further add to the financial woes mentioned above. Enjoy what you have while you have it. It is changing at a steady pace and there is no changing back at this point.
  4. America's Selfish Splintering of Special Interests: We are a nation stuck on individual rights to the point of selfishness. Special interest groups large and small will continue to grow. Rights will be demanded for issues never imagined today. Gay rights is just the beginning. When they have their place the shift will then turn to rights for transvestites, transgender and eventually, as in some European countries, rights for groups like NAMBLA, the National Man Boy Love Association. Our society once based on family values and Christian principles is rapidly declining into a free for all. You'll experience a decline in social behavior well beyond what you see today. You will see increasing security issues in your normal life and the splintering taking place further drives up government costs.
  5. America's Shift from Educating Leaders and Workers to Educating Followers and Dependents: We will see more and more intervention of government into the lives of families raising children. Children will be more and more looked upon as chattels of the government and children of families. Children will, over time, be taught more and more what to think. There will be a continuing shift of young people bent on saving the world rather than contributing to a more productive society. More people will leave college with a goal of a government job, as opposed to becoming the next Steve Jobs, Fred Smith or Bill Gates. You will see more schools and less education.
  6. America's Shift From the Land of Opportunity to the Land of Entitlement: There are two elements at work that are moving more people to dependency on government. We have a couple of generations under our belt of American's who depend on the government for their entire support. We're entering our third generation of dependency and they know nothing else. That is not going to change. The second element is immigration. When you live in a country of poverty and you can come to here and live better than ever without working, come on down. The portion of Americans legally paying taxes and proudly working will continue to decline as the government dependents, either workers or users, will continue to grow. The tipping point is approaching and social chaos will increase along with dependency.
  7. America's Shift from Freedom of Speech to a Politically Correct Monopoly: Americans will find that they are increasingly isolated for speaking their minds. The control of what we are permitted to say will continue to grow in subtle ways, unnoticeable to many. The shift will be quick in some areas and slower in others. The news media, nearly one hundred percent compromised, will be completely useless for anything but the party line. Americans will wake up one day not able to express dissent without being labelled, or worse.
  8. America's Citizens have been Dumbed Down and Duped: Todays America is so enamored with technology, Hollywood and video games, it has no idea a wolf walked in the back door while they were out running to McDonalds for a triple Big Mac and fries. The splintering mentioned above has isolated many Americans who are happy to bury their proverbial heads in the sands of our success and peace as a nation. Fewer people care to get involved and vote, and a growing number of Americans have no idea what the issues we face are, who their elected officials are, nor care what they are doing. Its all about me, is the slogan for a growing majority.

The changes in America are seeping into our society like a sewer leak on a hot summer day. It's still not noticeable to many, but the smell is real and the reality will soon be the judge. Many say to me, 'you're so negative'. It's not about being negative or positive. Its about being  real. The stench is coming and only by being realistic are we going to be ready for the New America. Its not about liking it, its about being ready to deal with it.
In future articles we'll explore learning, preparing and being ready.
