Back in the seventies I spent some serious time working, fighting and learning about the Teamsters. Now that could be a book in and of itself but the article below lays out how our man in the big white house in DC has plans to BAIL OUT, yes that is BAIL OUT the union pensions they have squandered away. If you are old enough to remember the 60s and 70s and Jimmy Hoffa going to jail ... they squandered them too.
But the man with all the answers, the closet Muslim is planning to make the bail outs permanent and make union pensions federal ... isn't that sweet.

These articles and most of the comments posted appear to be presumptuous and uneducated to the point that truth has been distorted. Readers are lead to believe the following false assumptions.
1 - Union pension funds have been mismanaged and performed poorly.
2 – The funds have not delivered what was promised.
3 – Impending financial challenges of the union pension funds are unlike the impending financial challenges of Social Security or Medicare funds.
4 – Union pension funds represent money invested by employees.
5 – Employees have been misinformed about the future status of their pensions.
6 – The future critical status of the funds has nothing to do with industry demographics or anti-union sentiment.

Thanks for the feedback and comment and the link. I read the link and appreciate his perspective. I do have to say that I worked in trucking for years, ran a trucking company and can get letters from a dozen or more of my former drivers who are living on 50% of their Teamsters pension and they retired some years ago and have use for their once beloved Teamsters.
I believe there is a place for unions but they are generally ran by what turn out to be crooks. I spent two years in Jersey and that group curled your hair.
