Our Stimulus Dollars at Work Providing Jobs

There was a recent report in Newsmax outlining a few projects where our stimulus dollars provided jobs,er, well they were supposed to provide jobs. Think about the Hormel Company, producers of many things but I didn't know they produced the Jennie-O line of crappy turkey and chicken products. Them are just parts!

Any way this great company received a mere $7.12 million for their turkey store in MN. The purpose was to produce and delivery "small cooked deli breasts". The "deli breasts' were part of a larger $100 million package of grants for canned fruits, canned pork and sliced ham to stock food pantries for the need and jobless. Jennie-O said the project would create or help retain 384 jobs.

Those employees worked just one week to fill the orders created by the grant ... after all, aren't these companies in the business of making these things everyday? Perhaps placing the order is a good thing if perhaps the goods went to the right place? But counting these jobs as 'stimulus' jobs ... umm, something funny going on here.

One more reason to have a Go Green November and vote all the bums out.
