Afghanistan - Saigon in 75' Without the Rooftops

Been instant messaging with some folks I know on the ground in Afghanistan. That is amazing in itself I guess but then a year ago I got a call from a Marine there asking me a question regarding my books so who knows?

But the quick and dirty, I asked, "What are the chances of us training that crew over there to defend themselves?" He shot back, 'lol Kug, not a chance'. I said, "I hear from my Marine contacts there and heading there that we are behind the power curve due to lack of enough troops" His comback, "In your era you'd have said 'the Gooks are inside the wire'.

This guy is an experienced dude who has been working in Iraq for the last six or so years and has just transferred to Afghanistan - early assessment but the same as what I am hearing from the boots on the ground.

America sits in a sad state of affairs. We have quite possibly the weakest Commander in Chief in our history at time we face a huge threat and he cant even use the word 'terrorist' or 'Islamic Insurgent' - look for the Fall of Saigon Round Two in the next year or so ...
