It's time to come up with Plan B as they say. I was talking with a guy in the know yesterday and while I havent checked his figures they sure sound close. If you take the entire National Debt of this country right now, adding in what we are upside down with Social Security and all the rest ... drum roll please, it would take, realistically, around $78 Trillion dollars to get us debt free.
As you let that sink in consider that the entire Gross National Product, in other words sales, of the entire world if you will is around $70 Trillion. I'm not a math major and I'm not a soothsayer or economist, but you dont have to be too quick to see we ain't a gonna' be payin' this growing mountain down anytime soon.
Bush was bad enough with his spending but this guy is making him look like the Frugal Gourmet. I dont know about you all but I'm fast pursuing Plan B and we probably need a back up ... life as we've known it in the 80' and 90's and into the new decade is gone. Dont know exactly what's coming but its not my Daddy's Oldsmobile. And speaking of GM ... read yesterday that the great company that once employed over 375,000 workers in our great country will be down to 35,000 when all is said and done. Now that's saving the auto industry!
